PAYMENT TERMS: Reservations and additional purchases made online will be accepted upon your agreement to the terms and successful validation of your credit card for the total booking amount. The booking amount will be charged to your credit card, and in cases of cancellation within the free cancellation period, a credit card fee will be retained. Cancellation requests must be submitted to gist@gist.fo. Please note that bookings with restrictions are subject to special terms and are non-refundable. Refer to Section 2 for further details.
CANCELLATION OF ACCOMMODATION: Free cancellations are allowed until 12:00 PM (local time) two days prior to your arrival. Only written cancellation requests will be recognized as valid. Cancellations made after the deadline will incur a charge equivalent to the first night’s room rate.

CANCELLATION OF SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS: Cancellations for arrangements (e.g., food or beverages) must be received no later than three days before the event date. Cancellations after this period are non-refundable.
NAME CHANGE: Name changes are permitted free of charge. Cancellations or amendments must be sent via email to gist@gist.fo.
CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT:

Check-In: From 2:00 PM. The Gist.fo reception desk operates from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM. If you expect to arrive later, please notify us the day before your check-in.

Check-Out: By 11:00 AM. Late check-outs are subject to availability and incur a charge of DKK 100 per hour after 11:00 AM. Please check with the reception for availability to extend your stay.
Bookings are only accepted for guests aged 18 years or older. Minors under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian or a responsible adult.
BREAKFAST

Available Monday to Saturday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

On Sundays and public holidays, breakfast is served until 10:30 AM.
SMOKING: Smoking is prohibited in all rooms, public areas, and meeting/banquet rooms. Designated outdoor areas are provided for smoking. A penalty of DKK 2500 will apply for violations, and the guest will also be charged for deep cleaning costs. This applies to both tobacco and e-cigarettes.
ANIMALS: Pets are not allowed. Exceptions are made for guide dogs and service animals.
Bringing your own beverages is not permitted. Drinks may be purchased at Aaron’s Café.
PARKING: Complimentary parking is available for paying guests. Guests are responsible for their own vehicles and liabilities.
PROCESSING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION: When you or someone on your behalf makes a booking, we collect and process the personal data necessary to fulfill the agreement for booking and purchasing services. This includes identity, contact, and payment information provided directly by you or through an agency. Additional information, such as dietary preferences or special requests related to your stay, may also be processed. All purchases, including restaurant and room service orders, are logged to provide services and facilitate payment.
Data is processed to fulfill the booking agreement and comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Personal data related to accommodations is retained for four years to enhance service for returning guests.

Financial information is stored as required by law, unless explicit consent for longer retention is provided.
Where electronic key card systems are in use, we log entries for security and crime prevention purposes, including fire safety. Logs are retained for 21 days.
GOVERNING LAW
These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Faroe Islands.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to update, change or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates and changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check our website periodically for changes.
